"Growing Pains"

I find it sad and almost humiliating that I'm sitting here crying and fully aware of the fact that I still love you.

I say this also fully aware of the fact that I hate your stinking guts.

"Never tell a [man] you love him, or he'll break your heart" -s.y.

I believe I've advised you on this before, but perhaps I did not make it clear. So here is the rule again: DO NOT TELL A MAN THAT YOU LOVE HIM UNTIL SUCH TIME AS HE HAS OVERTLY, UNDENIABLY AND CONSISTENTLY DEMONSTRATED WITH NOT JUST WORDS BUT ACTIONS THAT HE REALLY, REALLY LOVES YOU TOO. It is true what they say, YOU WILL KNOW when it's real. If you have ANY doubts as to whether or not he really loves you, you can be sure that he DOES NOT love you ENOUGH.
If and when you tell him, consider the possibility that your man might not respond in kind. If you think you can handle that and still want to express your love, go ahead. Remember that you could be wrong - you think you can handle it but you probably can't. If you know you can't handle it then consider holding off until either you're sure he'll say "I love you" back, or that you're really grown up enough to handle it if he doesn't. Truth is, when you are years away from contemplating marriage and all
is going well in the relationship, making proclamations such as "I love you" isn't even necessary and might put unnecessary pressure on your mate.
